Pete Delzer moved from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota to Big Sky, Montana in November of 1988. It was after several visits to Montana in the early ’80’s that he first acquired a love for the mountains and open spaces that Montana offered. He has been here ever since. In 1991, Pete became a volunteer on the Gallatin Canyon Volunteer Fire Department (GCVFD), rising to the rank of Captain in 1999. His training and job allowed him to volunteer with the Big Sky Search and Rescue, in addition to being a member of the Big Sky Volunteer Ski Patrol. Pete earned his certification as a First Responder with the GCVFD; while learning other aspects necessary to First Aid qualification, which he maintains. Upon being widowed, in 2001 (after 21 years of marriage) he stepped down from his volunteer positions in order to devote his time to his business and family within the Big Sky community. With a need and desire to be back around horses and to be a part of the outdoors, he joined the Rockin’ HK Outfitters family. He values his time in the back-country, meeting new people, working with close friends and viewing life between the ears of a horse. After all, isn’t that the way life is meant to be seen? He is re-married, a step-father to three wonderful children, and continues to live in Big Sky and volunteer his spare time to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Brandy Miller was raised on the banks of the Yellowstone River and in the mountains of Southwest Montana. Her father and mother introduced Brandy to the Yellowstone backcountry with horseback riding, hiking, kayaking and skiing excursions before she could walk. Respect and enjoyment of the outdoors grew with every tour. Grazing on native, edible plants in mountain meadows was common practice during family picnics. She found great interest in tracking animals through dense forests, observing their traits and marveling over their survival skills. Throughout college at Montana State University, Brandy worked as a ski coach at Bridger Bowl and on a backcountry trailcrew in the summers for the park service. She has traveled worldwide experiencing unique cultures and majestic landscapes yet prefers to be at home in Montana. Brandy ski patrols at Moonlight Basin, ski guides in Canada and lives in Big Sky, Montana
